What is Hoptown 2050?
Hoptown 2050 is a collaboration of neighbors sharing dreams for our city — and then helping make it a reality.
This October, Russ Guffey is convening a collaborative workshop to begin planning for prosperity – where people from every ward sit down together and work out what we want our town to be by 2050. This is where we sit at the table together, and the work actually begins.
We can be both unique and united.
If Hoptown's future is on your heart, then this is the room for you. Russ would love for you to join this sit down with him and other like-minded citizens by filling out the invitation. It's your first step to sitting down at the table where we author a shared future.
One Ground Rule
Positivity over pessimism. Creativity over complaints.
Every town has a list of complaints that already gets aired at meetings and on social media. This isn't that.
“I can't believe we got another ________.”
“I'd love to see more __________.”
Same information, two different mindsets. This is how we transform from a complaint-driven community to a solution-oriented one.
How your submissions help shape Hoptown 2050
Russ has a vision — and a plan — for making Hopkinsville the best place to live, work, visit, play, and stay. We want to include your ideas and your voice as we chart the course and plan proactively for a prosperous future. Your ideas will shape how we all build together to have the Hoptown of 2050.
Some of what you send may show up in workshop materials, the final report, and in what Hoptown 2050 comes to look like — including a community photo mosaic.

Who's behind this?
Hoptown 2050 is an initiative of Russ Guffey for Mayor. Worth saying plainly. But the initiative is built to outlast any one campaign and any one administration — the whole point is a plan this community makes for itself, and that only works if it belongs to everybody.
Do I have to come in October to participate?
No. Tell us on the invitation and we'll keep you in the loop. Your answers go into the workshop either way, and there will be other ways to weigh in as this goes.
Why do you need my phone number?
So we can reach you about the workshop. We will never sell or share your information.
What happens after October?
The workshop produces something — a picture of what this community wants by 2050, in its own words. Where it goes from there is part of what gets decided at this table.
